What better way to enjoy bright, summery weather than with a picnic in a pretty scenic setting? Dining al fresco is such a fun way to celebrate the sunny season with friends or family. Earlier in July, my sister and I indulged in the Holts Cafe Picnic Basket which was a sheer delight! The picnic basket comes with a wonderful selection of bites and beverages as well as an adorable map with suggestions of where to dine. If you’re looking for a luxurious outdoor social activity you will be on cloud nine with this Holt Renfrew picnic experience.
The Holts Cafe Picnic Basket is available to order on Uber Eats and included Foccacia, Pumpkin Seed Crostini, Compressed Melon Salad, 3 Cheeses (Herb Spread Cheese, Applewood Smoked Cheddar, Bocconcini), Charcuterie (Smoked Duck Breast, Fennel Salami, Coppa), Mushroom Lentil Pate, Pickled Onions, Wildberry Compote, Dried Apricot & Raisin, Beetroot Chutney, and Strawberry Rhubarb Bars. Delicious!
We enjoyed our picnic within the beautiful courtyards of Victoria College at the University of Toronto. Luckily, if you’re looking for plenty of options on the best parks in the city the Holts Cafe Picnic Basket comes with a map of the city and the best spots to visit. I’ve rounded up some of my favourite Toronto parks below which are all perfect for having a picnic.
Philosopher’s Walk
If you’re picking up your Holts Cafe picnic basket from the Bloor Street location, the University of Toronto campus just steps away from the store and makes for a beautiful and convenient destination for your picnic. The path is surrounded by Toronto landmarks including the Royal Ontario Museum, Trinity College, and Royal Conservatory of Music.
Riverdale Park
If sweeping city views sounds like your dream picnic destination Riverdale Park will not disappoint! The 18-hectare park located near Danforth Avenue and Broadview Avenue is a favourite for its sports fields, track, tennis courts, and baseball diamonds. When you’re finished enjoying your picnic, explore the recreational trails at the north end of the park.
Grange Park
Grange Park is a beautiful and historic greenspace tucked behind the Art Gallery of Ontario. From almost anywhere in the park you’ll have a view of Henry Moore’s larger-than-life bronze sculpture, Large Two Forms. After your picnic explore the exhibitions at the Art Gallery of Ontario, or wander down to Queen Street West for shopping and people watching.
Trinity Bellwoods
Trinity Bellwoods Park is one of the city’s hippest and most recognizable outdoor areas. Enjoy your meal at the picnic tables in Trinity Circle which are shaded under beautiful trees. If you love shopping local, visit during the Farmer’s Market which runs May 4th – October 26th every Tuesday (rain or shine) from 3 PM – 7 PM.
Enjoy!
